First step to enter to a competition after getting your dance training (kids&Teen classes) is getting your outfit and registration to the events. We register the kids to all competition event free of charge. Students also need to follow a dress code in competitions, preteen dancers have a very strict dress code. Please check Here to make sure your dress and shoes are eligible to attend in a competition.
The students needs to register as an “amateur competitor” at the www.ndca.org website (NDCA: National Dance Council of America). It cost $25 for a whole year. You will receive your NDCA number in a few days that has to be with you at the day of the competition.
It depends on the competition how much they charge, but here is an estimate:
The cost to enter an event is between $20-$40/couple or a solo/dance. If a couple enters they split the fee. The kids couples usually do around maximum 15-20 dances, minimum 3 dances recommended of the solo dances.
If it is group dance, it is between $100-$200/dance and participants split the fee, eg. if we have 10 kids dancing in one show number and fee is $200, then it will be $20/dance/kid.
Usually to watch the competition during day time when it is the kids event, it is around $25/adult ticket or $15/kid ticket.
To watch the professionals in the evening cost around $65/adult and $25/kid ticket.
